Is there such a thing as a CAT 6?

Once again, pardon my ignorance of hurricanes BUT.....is there such a thing as a CAT 6 hurricane? And if so....is Ivan the Terrible heading that way? I mean......HOLY COW, "210 MPH at 350'?"

NO, There is not...thankfully. I was in Camille http://www.geocities.com/hurricanene/hu ... amille.htm and I can assure you that you don't need a Cat 6. Camille was OFFICIALLY 190mph but the wind speed exceeded 230 at Keesler AFB when the tower blew down and the measuring instruments were destroyed.

My point about Andrew - exactly. If you go back, and review Camille now
as Andrew was done, Camille even destroyed the instruments to measure the wind. If there was a need for a 6th category, Camille was it.
