I really think a low to mid 3. Amazing how Jeanne has held her own when we kept saying she was finished. Just amazing how she made it through all the shear and especially Hispaniola. She looks amazing on visible now, I dont see why she cant strengthen even further.

Charley was only forcast to be 125 - 130 at landfall, correct? Then it rapidly strengthened.

yes, but frances and ivan rapidly weakened. Ivan was 145 and it hit as 130. Frances was 140 or 145 can't remember, and it hit as 110 i think.

oh, btw i think she will be a mid to high 3. winds of 125-130 mph.

Jeanne will be AT LEAST a cat 3 at landfall--no question about it.

Why?

Because no hurricane has ever made a direct hit on Hispaniola and regained major hurricane status prior to landfall before. And with every other freak thing that has happened this year, how could that not also happen now?
