Bob Breck on Fox8 in New Orleans says...

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Bob disagreed with the New Orleans mayor, who said Ivan would have to encounter perfect conditions to miss us east. I am not a Bob Breck wildy enthusiastic supporter, but I do not think it is necessary to criticize him for taking a stand on what he believes will occur.

I'll take a weatherman who actually states his opinion over the, "well, it will hit somewhere between florida and texas" group any day.

Uhhh, no, that's NOT what Bob said at all. I watched his entire segment and you are twisting his words entirely.

He said that if you have plans to go to Disney this weekend, don't cancel them. You still may be able to go before the storm reaches there (if it does go into FL). He did not say that he didn't think it was going to hit Florida, in fact, he said that he though it would but that there is a slight chance it could curve before it reaches land. Wow, how well you miscontrued his forecast.

Bob Breck tries to scare everybody. He did it for Georges in 98,Isidore in 2002,& again in Ivan.
I try not to watch him(but I do sometimes, because it is the only news that comes on at 9PM).Mostly watch David bernard & crew on WWL 4.
Also the other night Bob said that they naved it Ivan again because of insurance purposes.somthing about meeting a deductible from the storm,& any additional damage Ivan II might cause.

I don't know anything about Bob Breck, he may be a good meorologist, but making a statement like that is foolish at the very least. A very minor adjustment in Jeanne's track could bring this storm further west after the turn is made. Now having said that it is up to the individual to take that kind of chance.
