You know, my story really seems minor compared with this incident, but I'm another personal victim of the storms, too. My significant other ended our relationship and I know the "do we stay or go" arguments we had during at least three hurricanes caused a lot of stress and led to the breakup. May have happened eventually anyway, but I know this put a real extra burden on our relationship during a short period and caused some deep conflict that we couldn't resolve amicably. This was somebody I thought would be a life partner, but there's so much bitterness now that I can't imagine it; I found out how poorly we were able to disagree or argue about something and come to a compromise. At least he kept the steak knives in the drawer.
