Adrian skimming.....

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

What's the point of that?

Most EPAC storms go to the NW or West instead of NE like this is doing, but people don't post it.

Just because storms have done it in the past doesn't mean this storm will. You have to look at the steering currents and a host of other things.

You didn't?? Did I misread your post?

I never said I think Adrian is going to move northerly. I'm only stating what tropical systems in general can and have done. That doesn not mean I a expecting this system to do that.

You "technically" did not say it was moving more Northerly-you implied it should be or would be. I see some contradictions in your statements above.

There has been mention to this storm moving in an unusual way. I and I'm sure all of us see no reason to state that again.

Just because storms have done it in the past doesn't mean this storm will. You have to look at the steering currents and a host of other things.

Of course it doesn't. Part of forecasting is looking at the tracks of past cyclones. The stronger system moving more northerly is a known fact. That doesn't mean I think this storm is gaining strength and will move any more northerly than it is now.

Where do you get this stuff? So a weaker system means it's more likely to move SOUTH? NO. That isn't how it works.

I was giving an example not what I believe this storm will do. There shouldn't be anything wrong with discussing about this storm or any storm in this way.

You "technically" did not say it was moving more Northerly-you implied it should be or would be. I see some contradictions in your statements above.

I was implying that it should be or would be because of what we know about tropical systems. Again, that in no way means that Adrian should or will or that I think 'he' will move more northerly than is currently expected.

No, of course it wouldn't move south. It will move, in this case more easterly because it reached it's peak.

No, of course it wouldn't move south. It will move, in this case more easterly which will be the case because it has reached it's peak.
