I'm sure Santorum's inbox got the email. But then again, maybe it didn't if his server filters out selected words--say, for instance, "idiot."
I've written plenty of screaming mimi letters like that--and then shredded, deleted, or trashed them before sending them, and then written a letter with more decorum. Insulting a person only causes them to put up the armor and ignore everything else you say. It also, in the end, harms your cause as the recipient will associate screaming mimis with said cause, as opposed to associating it with reasonable people who happen to disagree.
Trying to communicate with them in a polite, direct manner might actually get them to see your sideBulldozing them with hate mail will not.
Only thing is Santorum may not even consider nice emails...once a person's mind is set...it can often be difficult to sway the other way on an issue. But I agree that nice emails do have a better chance of making a result.
