I too think it's fairly close to a TS, but I'm only inferring that from the way it has looked for the last several hours plus the warm waters and good outflow.

I wouldn't be shoked if it's still only a TD. Recon will be there soon ...

lets wait until recon before jumping to conclusions. It does look impressive, I give you that, its just we dont have any data justifying a tropicla storm and an official upgrade cannot be made without the data

Your opinion does not make it so. We have asked previously that people not say that a TC until it becomes official. Derek is only stating his opinion and asking for something the staff has previously asked for.
