BUMP

After a long battle with myself, I finally voted Wilma. But Katrina is a close second.

katrina got my vote. She was such a classic "buzz saw" with that beautiful eye. Wilma is a close second for me.

I'm now going to say that Katrina pic in my opinion is the most beautiful hurricane shot I've ever seen overall

Right as the sun goes down

Bad news: The unbelievable damage

Good news: didnt make land as a cat 5 or it would have been worse (if you could imagine that)

I voted for Wilma, mostly because of that pinhole eye. But I still think it's a toss-up between Wilma & Katrina. Katrina was so huge and menacing (like someone said, the "buzz saw" look) with a very well-defined (and massive) eye at stages. I voted for Wilma though, didn't want to be biased toward Katrina just because I'm living in Louisiana.

Does anyone have stats on how big or small each hurricanes eye got during its life cycle?

Defiantly Wilma, she was beautiful with a small eye, and with a big eye. She also had very impressive outflow.

Katrina had her beautiful circulation pointed straight at new orleans ready to destroy it then at the last minute.then at 2:00 AM Aug 29 Dry Air saves the day(by the way it has rained in weeks).NO is still there and can be rebuilt its not the lost city of atlantis which is the worst case scenario by the way.Katrina i love the your Satallite photos your very beautiful but don't test your beauty (CAT 5) on NO,Tampa,Miami,Houston,NYC,Tokyo ,hong Kong and everywhere in between

why did she weaken that close to shore?dry air ewrc i heard all kinds of theories.Katrina came 70 miles close to being the strongest CAT 5 since we started naming storms.Katrina was 904 mb at midnight.she was annular she been a CAT 5 all day from 6:00 in the morning .she was a CAt 5 for 22 hrs which is amazing she was downgraded on the 2:00AM advisory all she had do do was get that eyewall on land which is mostly unpopulated why weaken at the last minute. That landfall would i been historic.if she did hit as a CAT 5 she would of beaten Camille's record just like she did out in the central gulf at 902mb

where did that dry air come from she was very healthy Hurricane until about 2:00 am.She made landfall at 6:00 at 145 mph winds it hard to believe how close she was to being the strongest(named CAT 5) and largest CAT 5 ever to make landfall in the US.

As I have stated and emphasized many times whenever I mention a hurricane is beautiful, when voting in polls like these, you must forget everything bad these hurricanes did and just treat them like fish. I know, it's hard. These polls are based on beauty at their peak on sats. Look at the sats I posted and judge them by beauty (remember, not devastation).
