Do you think global warming is causing it to be so active? I'm starting to think its very possible.

There are loads of records being broken across the Pacific NW today and tomorrow as we speak with Seattle some 20 degrees above normal - I think there is something going on. :grr:

Heck I'm setting in it with 92 degrees today which the record was 95 degrees. The hottest day ever for June is 100 degree in I expect to be tied tomarrow...Monday I forecast 102 degrees. Its a hot one! If this was late July it would about 110 here.

Not sure what was going on earlier today since I didn't see it, but the area now around 10N/35W looks much better to me than the other one. Still, I don't see how the overall tropical activity right now is so far out of the ordinary. We have one pathetic invest, another non-tropical invest, and a couple of tropical waves. Sounds about right to me.

I wanted to post this segment from George Carlin for those that think global warming is the cause (I could post the link to the full segment if you guys want):

"Did you ever think about the arithmetic? The planet has been here four and a half billion years. We've been here, what, a hundred thousand? Maybe two hundred thousand? And we've only been engaged in heavy industry for a little over two hundred years. Two hundred years versus four and a half billion. And we have the CONCEIT to think that somehow we're a threat? That somehow we're gonna put in jeopardy this beautiful little blue-green ball that's just a-floatin' around the sun?

The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through all kinds of things worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles...hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worlwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages...And we think some plastic bags, and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference?"

Back OT, the LLC near 7.3N, 43W, which I stated earlier could be of interest if it could maintain itself, has lost most of it's convection this morning. However, the other LLC near now near 9N, 37W has had some banding and an increase in convection. This did not warrant any mention from NHC during this morning's tropical advisory.

There's always someone who will use a single event to "prove" or disprove GW which is ridiculous. Also, it's by no means a consensus among Tropical Mets that we have seen a global increase in either numbers or intensities over the past 20-50 years.

It's naive to think that the waste created by 6.5 billion people could not change things. Just look at China's pollution problems. The pollution we create is much more than a few plastic bags and aluminum cans. But we won't change things forever -- if we create too much of an imbalance the Earth will simply correct things and wipe us out in the process. Life will begin anew sans humans.

The second one is looking better than the front runner.

it looks like the 1st one may have a big blow up of convection forming right on the center...i think these both have at least a chance

Im quite surprised the NHC hasn't even mentioned this area - they are assuming climatology will win out here and cap any development but I'm not so sure. The farther east wave looks very impressive.

There no new invests yet, so TPC may still not mention these areas in 11:30 TWO this morning. I agree they do look more interesting for tropical storm formation than 91L.

I am really surprised about the fact that they are acting like we don't have a closed rotary circulation in the central atlantic. I mean is is clear as day!

Another thing is that the second one is moving faster than the first. They should combine is about 48 hours or less.
