Just watched Max Mayfield call this a dud on channel 10. I'm in Tavernier and we have no wind and some great downpours.

Cool, thanks. I also tracked it down via the Everglades National Park: Flamingo Visitor Center

found a good weather station from Lauderhill, FL (near Miami). So far it looks like top gusts today have been in the lower 30s. It will be interesting to see what the winds do as the storm moves onshore:

*CBS4 just reported a fatality in an weather related auto accident on 836.

*2 elderly women were air-lifted to a local hospital this afternoon after their aluminum hurricane shutters toppled on top of them.

Point? This is a big deal in some South Florida homes this evening.

Intensification can still continue over the glades and Okeechobee.

I would be expecting you to get the best Ernie's got, which isn't much right now. It'll be a good dvd/movie night, then good sleepin weather.

I think it's a little ridiculous to call those hurricane related deaths.
