Just inland from Myrtle Beach...
Perfectly calm wind, which is VERY strange. It's extremely rare to have calm winds here during the day.
No rain in the last couple of hours. Birds were going crazy earlier, but now all that's left are hummingbirds. The larger birds have disappeared.
EDIT: Just as I posted this it started to rain, so nevermind about that part.

I'm surprised how weak this system really is so far.............even Dennis of 1981 was far more significant.
Might as well go fishing, there's just nothing going on here in N Chas..........

Even though everything's calm right now, apparently Ernesto is picking up some steam as he's chugging towards us. I'm very concerned that Horry County schools are not closing early today, but Brunswick County schools north of us are. Honestly, there are no concerns here as far as the public is concerned.

I was just out on this Pier about 10 minutes ago. The surf is up, but its not that bad. The weather has broken considerably since 10 this morning.
Currently in Kill Devil Hills -
R-
Winds currently substanted at 10 to 15 with the occasional gust of 20 mph
We picked up 1.25 inches since my last post. We now stand at 2.25 inches since around 9 this morning.
More updates to come throughout the day.
