I just meant that was when the 1993 event started
during the early 90s
the pattern had continuous flips between El Nino and warm neutral
i.e
1991: January - April (warm neutral)
May 1991 - June 1992 (el nino)
rest of 1992 was around neutral
1993
March - July (el nino)
August 1993 - March 1994 (warm neutral)
1994
April 1994 - March 1995
as u know when one enso state ends conditions don't just suddenly change. it takes a while for them to evolve.
look at this years US summer. which was indicative of a La Nina despite the ssts at the time across Equatorial pacific at the time showing something closer to neutral or warm neutral

The east coast and central Florida are the driest areas at the moment:

Please keep in mind that just because there's an El Nino doesn't mean there will be rain. El Nino alters the pattern so that S. Fl usually gets more rain. Remember that ENSO is just a SSTA in the equatorial Pacific and really wouldn't mean anything if it did not influence global weather patterns which brings anomalously high rainfall amouonts to the deep south.

It rained *alot* this summer. I am enjoying cool fall days with highs in the 70s and low humidity. Why do we all like South Florida so much. Now for the next 6 months is the reason!!!
It rained "*alot*" at my house this summer as well. I recorded the most "rainy season" rain fall totals since 1995. Also, we did not even water our lawn for 4 months this summer. The lingering east coast trough really helped to make up the rain fall totals above normal for my area this year.
