:uarrow: I don't know when the one in Orlando is. I googled it and couldn't find anything.

The Florida Governor's Hurricane Conference is May 14-18 in Ft. Lauderdale.

There is no hurricane conference in Orlando. The NHC has been alternating between New Orleans and Orlando in recent years. It was Orlando's turn this year but they went back to New Orleans for some reason. I'd much rather go to Orlando than New Orleans.

There is also the Texas Hurricane Conference at Moody Gardens on Galveston Island May 8-10:

And coincidentally, there's an AccuWeather Hurricane Summit at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Houston, TX on May 8th. Dr. Gray, Phil Klotzbach, Joe Bastardi, and Eric Blake will be speaking (among others). It costs $99 for the all day event. I plan to attend, even though they're a competitor of ours. Always good to hear Dr. Gray speak.

Then go. You don't need a conference just to go to Orlando. Personally, I'd pick New Orleans over any other city in the country, but maybe that's just my hometown bias.

Hey, I'm from south LA, too. As far as I'm concerned, New Orleans was dirty, stinky, and dangerous before Katrina, but it's much worse now. Its only redeeming quality used to be its restaurants, and many of them are closed now.
