Actually climatology says the first storm of the season doesn't form until late July/early August.

My prediction for the first storm of the season was July 1-10, but Andrea launched a pre-emptive strike. My decision was largely based on climatology as well, with the earlier date being a nod to favorable conditions for an active season.

ok thanks for the explanations

so not climatology...but just based on Alberto
and Arlene and additional heat and moisture and
reducing shear a NW caribbean system is possible...
but if something does form I think it stays below
hurricane strength.

My guess would be some time in late June. I recall 2003 when we had an early storm in April... And nothing else for quite a while, correct? I expect a similar situation.
