When will invest 90L be declared?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

June 10th seems kind of late for a very active season ahead.

2004's first TC didn't develop until August. That season featured 15 NS, 9 hurricanes, and 6 intense hurricanes.

Many La Nina seasons with >13 NS didn't ramp up until late August.

2005, if you look back, was initially thought to be (by most of you!) a late starting season- at least for its [predicted] activity. Yes, 2005!

I'd say 27th May a couple of hundred miles east of the Carolinas developing from a cold cored low.

I'd say... tonight.

(If it is tagged, this thread will be basically void, lol.)

Technically, no, because in the horribly unlikely event the system gets tagged, there is a chance they might accidentally tag it as 96L (since 95L existed a short while ago and crossed years).

Plus, if it DOES get tagged, it won't be the last 90L anyway... ;)

0 UTC 6/1 = 30 hours off.

May 28 = 18-42 hours off.

Therefore, I'd say Cat5 and Boca are both winners.
