Looks like almost everyone underestimated the number of majors including yours truly. :(

Yeah the majors have blown my call out of the water. Gotta say though that most had the right idea as far as a very active season goes. (Above normal anyways. Not bad imo.

Hm, the ones with at least 5 majors are:

Code: Select all

Vortex=15/9/5
tropicalweatherwatcher=13/9/5
Wnghs2007=18/10/5
Floydbuster=15/10/5
Gailforce=15/11/5
cctx=17/9/5
LilNoles2004=16/9/5

As the current numbers are 12/7/5, tropicalweatherwatcher and Gailforce are out as well.

IF Invest 93 develops, it will likely be major.

The way Jeanne is fighting, (compare her sattelite presentation now with the one she had in the morning!), she might become major as well.

If Lisa survives her encounter with Karl, she will become hurricane.

Can easily see 13/9/7 just counting what we have now on tap, and assuming Invest 94 will be sheared/dryed out in GOM.

Looking at Karl, he just looks majestic. Go, Karl, Go! You can be the second Cat5 of this season. Too bad NHC would probably not upgrade him based only on satellite (remember Isabel last year?).

I must have not been a member when this topic was closed. My numbers were 18/15/08/04.....and current is 15/14/08/06....+3/+1/0/-2....looks like I'm probably going to be off even more as we are still not done with the season.

Yep KOW I skipped your numbers but yes you are there in the final 3 forecasts most closest to 14/8/6 so now let's see what happens if there are more developments or the season is shut down by the weak el nino.

Bumping for those who want to see how they did with their numbers.I see 3 members who did the most close to the 14/8/6 King of Weather,Vortex and tropicalweatherwatcher.

Thanks to all the members who participated in this poll and let's do it again for the 2005 season by mid april when I will post the poll. :)

Now that Gaston has been reclassified as Hurricane Gaston ( Read sticky thread of the 2004 tropical cyclone reports) the 2004 season final numbers are 14/9/6 but that one additional hurricane doesn't change the close call winners of this sample that are the same.Vortex,tropicalweatherwatcher and Lil2004 were the most closest.Sorry Floydbuster your 15/10/5 came short at every category.
