I love strong fish stroms like Bill and Fred bt hate the naked swirls they're the most un-exciting thing that exists (talking about weather).

Take a look at this Morphed Integrated Microwave Imagery - Total Precipitable Water loop (MIMIC-TPW). In particular, look along the coast of Africa. Major push of dry air offshore now, shutting down the tropical wave train. This may be the end of the Cape Verde Season.

I know one thing. It is still muggy and humid enough down here for a storm.

Re: Tropics Offically Flat lined !! (dead)
I love how this thread died when our little surge of storms came along and picked right up where it left off as soon as the next lull hit. Gotta love it, just like 2005 when we had that brief lull in august, everyone tried to kill that season too, right before a little storm named Katrina IIRC.
My point? This thread (and all others like it) are stupid and pointless, and won't make the atlantic wake up and drive a cat 4 into a major city. Hurricane season (and all weather events) will do what they do, and you have no control over it.
The worst part is, I don't think the name "Choi Wan" would ring a bell to anyone in this thread without a pro met sticker. We all love to track TC's, which is why its the worst part. Choi Wan was an amazing super typhoon in the WPAC, almost textbook, many beautiful images came out of it, and people continue to complain that the atlantic is dead. You were all warned preseason about a possible "below average" season (which really we're on pace for an average one), so I don't know what the problem is.
So I'd like to encourage people to stop whining, and explore the glorious world of weather outside the tropical atlantic, chances are you'll find something fascinating somewhere on this big blue planet. There's a major flood event in the southeast U.S and a couple of invests in the pacific, go check them out.

"You are kidding right?"..... This has to be a record low season. This is absolutely unbelievable!!!!! I don't think anyone associated with the tropics would have predicted this!
It's not surprising at all, I wasn't kidding when I said this season is a real snoozer. I'm not certain how it will stand up to the 1997 season but I'm sure this will be the worst (least active and uninteresting) season this decade. Heck, people were pessimistic back in March of this year.
I doubt there will be anything left to watch after this period other than a sub-tropical storm late in the season.

This thread is hilarious, but for different reasons

Snoozer? The ACE may be low, but it isn't zero. This season had its moments. Bill was was interesting for its strength and path. Fred just wouldn't die. There must be some other interesting facts that I am missing. Personally, other than not having a landfalling storm, the best part of this season is this thread.

It's over it would appears...note the rainy season for SFL appears it will come to an end this weekend with the front that arrives. When the rainy season ends for SFL, usually that marks the end of hurricane season for the continental US.
THE LATEST 14/12Z GFS CAME IN MUCH LOWER WITH REGARDS TO TEMPS
BEHIND THE FRONT. DID NOT CHANGE THE TEMPS IN THE EXTENDED GIVEN
THE FACT THAT THE ECMWF CONTINUES TO BE WARMER THAN THE GFS...SO
THERE IS UNCERTAINTY IN JUST HOW COOL IT WILL GET.
HOWEVER...THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THIS WILL BRING A SIGNIFICANT
AIRMASS CHANGE TO SOUTH FL...AND IT PROBABLY WILL BRING ABOUT OUR
END TO THE "RAINY SEASON" AS A REFRESHING LONG AWAITED AIRMASS
FROM THE NORTH INFILTRATES INTO THE AREA

We will see. Possibilities are being discussed of a Caribbean "surprise" in another thread here in TT. One thing I learned many years ago about the tropics-"NEVER SAY NEVER".
