...SPECIAL FEATURES...
TROPICAL WAVE IS IN THE E CARIBBEAN ALONG 66W/67W WITH A 1011 MB
LOW ALONG THE WAVE NEAR 14N MOVING RAPIDLY W NEAR 20 KT. AIR
FORCE RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT DID NOT FIND A LOW LEVEL CENTER
AND WIND SPEEDS JUST BELOW GALE FORCE. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
WILL BECOME MORE FAVORABLE FOR FURTHER DEVELOPMENT INTO A
TROPICAL DEPRESSION IN A DAY OR TWO WHEN THE WAVE REACHES THE W
CARIBBEAN. REGARDLESS OF WHETHER DEVELOPMENT OCCURS...THIS
SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO BRING SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS
OVER THE AREA FROM THE ABC ISLANDS TO OVER THE GREATER ANTILLES
FROM THE VIRGIN ISLANDS TO HISPANIOLA. THIS ACTIVITY WILL
CONTINUE TO MOVE W MOVING OVER CUBA AND JAMAICA ON FRIDAY.

5:00 advisory could now find a low circulation but I bet they can now on satellite.

Now that the thunderstorms are dying out at the end of the diurnal minimum, we should see the pro mets showing up again to point out the weakening. :)

It's funny how they show up when systems are unorganized or weakening, and are nowhere to be found when their strengthening

I know you put a "smiley face" at the end of the post...but, nonetheless, what you wrote is simply untrue...the Pro's have been here all day...as a voice of reason and wisdom during the explosion earlier today...when so many were proclaiming this "Tropical Storm Dean"...and I sure hope they'll be here tonight and tomorrow and every day after that...during both active times and calm times.

I think 99L has been a great educational experience, for me anyway.

It's talkin' tropics, lets have a respectful conversation.

Just to make it quick,

If there is not center of low pressure, then there is no convergence in the lower levels, then any convection cannot sustain itself and therefore has to die. Then, diurnal maximum comes along, enhances convection, and you get a healthier-looking system.

No LLC = no convection can persist.

That's incorrect. All you need for convergence at the sfc is a convergent asymptote. To have a convergent asymptote, you need not have a LLC. A tropical wave doesn't have a LLC...just a convergent asymptote...but yet there is plenty of convergence to produce convection.

All 99L has to have to produce convection is a convergent asymptote and proper dynamics. It has a convergent asymptote at this moment...it is the dynamics that are lacking...i.e. the instability is lacking?

I never said I didn't wan't them to be around. I look forward to what they say and highly respect them. And I think they know that I do. Also, they seem like a strong bunch - I think they can take care of themselves. And I think they got my joke.

I love this site mainly because of the Pro mets...I know they can handle some of the newbies on here that dont fully appreciate them...One just needs to lurk on some other forums and see the ridiculous bickering and can see how awesome this site is...This forum has a family type atmosphere and will hopefully continue that way...

Until you post anything as informational and concise as any of the pro mets on this board, just be quiet.

You mean like the FOX guy who joked about Santa Claus? I'll agree it was concise, but informational?

Oh...we're here...and some even said this morning that a plane shouldn't be wasted on this because there was nothing at the sfc...while others were proclaiming it TS Dean.

So...I ask you...when you won't listen in the first place...why bother?

Exactly...which is why I didn't. It was very obvious to the trained eye (and the pro's and VERY good amatuers on this site said so) that there was nothing there...and it was pretty obvious it was going to pulse again...but you can't argue with passion...nor can you reason with it...nor do I need to.

Nice outflow channel on the northern quad of this system, but lacking thunderstorms again to produce a LLC at the surface.
