The trough split is now being shown in the short range both by operational and ensemble based guidance, so there's pretty high confidence that will likely occur. With that occurring, the ridge is allowed to stretch farther west than it otherwise would, opening the door to US impacts from this system.

Kind of an Andrew like scenario, where the trough split and allowed the HP to extend all the way to Central Gulf, right?
