He's right, everyone just calm down. This system had hurricane-force winds 2 days ago, so the wind speed has nothing to do with if it's a cyclone or not.

I should of said depression winds, but its all a wait in see right now. As for a few days ago, that was a purely cold core like cyclone. Something like this has not formed in may in many years. So yes its interesting.

An storm in 1932 formed on the 5th of May.
If Andrea forms today, it will be the third earliest storm in May.
Don't forget that Ana formed in April of 2003 as a STS and then converted fully over to a full blown TS.
