There's a duck north of Puerto Rico. Could possibly be a woodpecker. 40 Percent chance of fowl weather.

8 AM TWD:
A Caribbean Sea tropical wave is along 72W from 22N southward,
moving W 15-20 kt. This wave continues to interact with an upper-
level low across the extreme SE Bahamas, and is generating
scattered to locally numerous moderate to strong convection from
the NE coast of Puerto Rico to 27N between 64W and 70W. The low
level wind surge and Saharan Air accompanying this wave has moved
NW ahead of the wave and reaches as far north as 29N and as far
west as 74W.

A Caribbean Sea tropical wave is along 72W from central Hispaniola
to northwest Venezuela, moving W at 10 kt. The tropical wave is
moving west of an upper level low centered off northern Haiti.
Dry, subsident air in the northerly flow on the west side of this

The wave has split with one part to the north and the other in the Caribbean sea. The Caribbean Sea part will cross into the EPAC and may be the trigger for developmernt there.

A Caribbean tropical wave is along 73W from western Hispaniola to
northeast Colombia, moving W at 10 kt. The majority of moisture
and energy accompanying this wave has moved northwestward and
across the Atlantic waters east of 75W, as far north as 30N. The
remaining portion of the tropical wave across the Caribbean has
moved under an upper-level low centered off northern Haiti. Dry,
subsident air in the northerly flow on the west side of this upper
low, along with lingering, dry Saharan air, is inhibiting
convection north of 15N near the tropical wave. However, scattered
clusters of moderate to strong convection are occurring south of
15N to coastal Colombia from 72W to 79W, and is being enhanced by
an upper level jet south of the upper level low.

2021 Tropical Waves Thread
We decided to have a thread for the tropical waves instead of having different ones for each one.
A new Tropical Wave has been introduced and is emerging from West Africa but the chances for development are slim because conditions are not favorable but neverless will be tracking it.

Gotta say, contrary to what some folks on social media platforms like Twitter have been saying recently with the lull in activity, the ITCZ has been pretty active despite a suppressive phase.

Unless explicitly stated, all information covered in my posts is based on my opinions and observations. Please refer to a professional meteorologist or an accredited weather research agency otherwise, especially if serious decisions must be made in the event of a potentially life-threatening tropical storm or hurricane.
Re: Tropical Wave in Central Caribbean
Some convection with inflow off coastal Nicaragua which might make it to the western Caribbean if it gains a little latitude.

An Atlantic tropical wave has been introduced near the coast of
Africa along axis 17W, south of 18N, based on satellite imagery,
tropical wave diagnostic and the Hovmoller diagram. Scattered
moderate convection in noted from 07N to 13N and between the
coast of Africa to 19W. The northern portion of the wave is
surrounded by dry and dusty Saharan Air Layer, resulting in no
convection.

Re: Tropical Wave off West Africa (17W)
Looks like the African Easterly Jet (at 500mb) diverges at 40W.
Usually it is at 50W.
See what happens when it gets to 40W.

Re: Tropical Wave in Western Caribbean
It appears that this afternoon western Jamaica got a great deal of lightning from this wave.
