The potential path of this storm reminds me a lot of Hurricane Ida in November 2009. Ida formed in the western Caribbean and moved north in the GOM. That storm peaked as a Cat 2 in the southern Gulf before getting decapitated and fizzling in the northern Gulf just off the FL Panhandle. It did prompt hurricane warnings on the coast as it was originally forecast to make it to the coast as a weakening Cat 1.

It would be nice if that happened. That would bring some needed rain to the panhandle.
