It's better to use http://wxgr.nl/tmppic/WXRecon.kml as a link, this .kml file ensures the .kmz file is refreshed every 5 minutes; otherwise you will have to do the refresh yourself.
I'm going asleep now (after midnight over here), so I hope the computer keeps running tonight.

The 'second flight' was the last part of the old one. I just did a restart of the program, so there should be only flight AF304/1104A from this moment.

You should be able to just copy and paste this code - update the link when NRL updates.

I'm no expert on GE - but if you edit the code in notepad and paste it back in it should work fine.

I'm hoping somebody comes up with a self relocating hi-res set of files - I'm sure they will.

Edit - you can always adjust the size when you access the overlay properties with your mouse - I turn on Lat/Lon (ctrl-L)

I wouldn't worry about it - the public sat images are always 30-90 mins behind "real-time"

I was expecting a slight pressure rise tonight, especially if the eyewall made it onshore like it did a couple hours ago. It could strengthen again, don't know about Category 5. But still, not a force to be reckoned with.

FL winds hit 124kts, with SFMR reading a max 121kts. Automated pressure extrapolation got down to 927mb, so probably right around 930mb in reality.

124kts FL with the standard 90% reduction is about 112kts at the surface, making it a Cat 3.

I don't know if it means anything though. And looking at the map I HIGHLY doubt that the 112 kt surface winds were the highest winds.
