I want so badly to have this wave succeed but it's under a lot of fire. We'll see what happens in the next 12 hours

Sure looks like convection refiring on the eastern side of the wave, AFTER it hit the water. Anyone else notice this?

Hehe yea, I definately don't get my hopes for these waves anymore, that's for sure. .....If there was something else to watch in the tropics, which there isn't, then I probably wouldn't even watch this at all this far out.

If tomorrow, we are feeilng just as excited about this wave as we are today, then the game is on....On the otherhand we may wake up tomorrow and not see anything left at all.

Yeah I agree its probably still a little early but its got a nice shape and I do think its hint for what may start to occur in the last week or so of this month...

Could see a yellow on this one at some point soon if it holds itself well in the next 12hrs.

Are you saying that there's never been a storm that's formed coming off of the coast of Africa this time of year?

It is very rare though for anything to get going in this part of the basin, esp with solid SAL locked in to the north. That said for some reason this does remind me of a further south Bertha for some reason...

IMO, we are seeing typical late July conditions rate now, so I would not be surprised to see a system develop. This wave looks good and we may see a code yellow shortly and it helps that we have some model support. I'm tired of these Yucatan to BOC systems, they are boring!! j/k

Satellite presentation is fairly impressive late this afternoon.

In fact, 18Z GFS continues to depict development.

H+24 fairly impressive

This image updates every 15 minutes. Any member jumping on the developing bandwagon with only 12 hours after most of the convection emerged Africa or you prefer to wait a little longer? :)

Luis you get the credit if it does develop and your not one to over hype a wave. I looked at the loops and I think there is potential because of the satellite presentation and because there is model support. I don't think the SAL will have a huge effect on this system. IMO, Code Yellow at 2am!
