If this pattern continues in the ATL, we might end up having had 20+ named storms, but a total ACE of 30-40.
For comparison, the year with the highest ACE out of 7 storms was 1960 (7/4/2) bringing it to 88 units.
1970 on the other hand had 10 named storms (10/5/2) which raised the season total to only 34.

I looked at ACE/storm by season.
1960
12.6/storm

1970
3.4/storm

Mean
9.78/storm

Median
9.1/storm

Standard Deviation
4.22

Highest
21.2/storm 1915

Lowest
1.75/storm 1925

However, this was before satellite existed.

With Satellite
Highest
18.6/storm 1961

Lowest
3.4/storm 1970

Some really active season had lower than normal ACE/storm, like 1990 (6.5), 2005 (8.9/storm), 2007 (4.8/storm), and 2010 (8.7/storm).
