Hey, Im bored so heres my "prediction" of 2005 season...

Arlene-tropical storm, hits early in the season, not causing much damage
Bret- Cat 1 hurricane hitting Cuba, and then Yucatan
Cindy- strong Cat 3 off the east coast in early August
Dennis-tropical storm that fizzles
Emily-Cat 2 threatening Florida
Franklin-tropical storm hitting Florida panhandle
Gert- Cat 4, out to sea
Harvey-Cat 3, out to sea
Irene-the big one. a strong Cat 4 threatening the gulf coast
Jose-tropical storm forming in Bay of Campeche then into Mexico.
Katrina-tropical storm that fizzles
Lee-Cat 4 threatening gulf coast west of Florida
Maria- strong tropical storm
Nate- Cat 1, into yucatan
Ophelia-final storm of the season. Will be a weak tropical storm

I picked Ivan last year and Isabel the year before to be the big ones so I'm on a 2 year streak.

I picked dennis this year but I think I'm wrong though cause it was alot sooner then I thought

But it's hard to intimidate someone with hurricane "Franklin" or "Lee"

We were brushed by the western side of Category one Irene back in 1999 as she moved up the east coast of Florida just offshore.

I think Irene is ready to make a name for herself this year.

Katrina and Maria have trouble written all over them as well IMO.

Maria- Hurricane into NC/Outterbanks. Cat3?
Nate- Gulf of Mexico stprm into Mexico tropical storm.
Ophelia-Southeastern Canada effect by a cat1 hurricane.
Philippe-Cat5 moving through the Caribbean. Maybe into Central America.
Rita-A weak cat1 hurricane making landfall over Eastern Florida.

Irene made a name for herself already, thank you very much. At least those of us around me will remember her. Wasn't much of a wind event -- in fact, from what I know, it's debatable as to whether it was even a hurricane when it got to Palm Beach. But it dumped about 15 inches of rain on us, and if you lived on the wrong side of my community, you were bailing the overflowed lake out of your car the morning after.

A few years ago I thought in 1999 Katrina would make landfall in Myrtle Beach as a Cat 5. Katrina's going to be much worse this year though.

Irene looks to be bad also.

I'm thinking Harvey's going to impact Puerto Rico as a strong Cat 4, the FL Keys as a Cat 5, and the TX/LA area as a Cat 4 with winds of 140 mph.

Jose's destined to be a fish IMO.

Lee sounds like he's going to do something pretty darn bad, reminds me of Robert E. Lee, the Confederate general during the Civil War (not that that's the reason I think Lee's going to be bad).

I've no opinion on the rest of the storms, though.

Lee~The sister to Katrina...Cat 4 near MS

Maria~Cat 3 into LA/MS

Nate~Cat4 that teases the Coast before making his mind up where to go.

Ophelia~TS into South Texas.

Phillippe~Cat1~TX/LA border

Rita~East FL/Georgia as a Cat 1

Stan~Cat3 into FL

To me Nate could be the big one that long tracks but because of advanced warning, IF most people heed the warning then it might not cause many deaths. Hits Florida as a Cat 4/5. That leaves me with Vince, Vince could be a late season, strong storm that goes from a Cat 5 to a strong Cat 3/4 on landfall in Cuba then gets in the GOM and gets back to Cat 4 status. Then continues its march into NO area. I could and probibly will entirely wrong buts its my guesstimate. I hate to make a prediction like this but its just a gut feeling as are all predictions in this tread. Could be troubled if it pans out.
