This storm is crazy -- and I don't want to see what they find in Slidell, Pass Christian, and Bay St. Louis today and tomorrow.

I fear that what New Orleans got will be twice as bad in those towns...

Whats scary is that there are whole parts of new Orleans area they haven't even heard from yet - like the North shore of the Lake...

And that part of the coast and inwards from N.O to to Gulfport... has anyone seen any info from that area???

Local news here says they've rescued 700 people off roofs and from attics with rescuses ongoing (Just NO I think)

For those of us without access to TV today, thanks for posting the pictures. They help make what we're reading real.

Heartbreaking. wow...

You're welcome.

I know not everyone got a look at a footage last night on cable and wanted to get them up for people.

I added some AP and Getty pictures this morning showing additional flooding.

I just want to post this to make something about New Orleans entirely clear.

If they cannot close the breach (breaches?) in the levee system, for all practical intents and purposes New Orleans WILL be destroyed. Please be clear about that.

The city is going to have to be almost totally rebuilt. There's no question about that, it's real unless the breaks are closed.

Tell fat-butt to fork over the remote! Eh, it's probably just as well. You can EASILY choke yourself to death emotionally if you keep your head in the coverage day and night. Still, "sweetie pie" should let you watch SOME of it.

Re: Son - Don't "know" anything until you really DO know it. Put him and his family in a good, safe place until you KNOW differently. If you can worry, then you can HOPE, too. Both are free, and hoping is a lot more fun. I am in Orlando - PM me if there is anything within my power to do. I mean that.

I just hit the CH 13 website - there isn't any news about south FL, so there you go. Starve the Worry, Feed the Hope!

I've been reading constantly but the phrase above
Starve the Worry, Feed the Hope!
is the absolutely best thing I have seen. Thank you.

Does anyone know the status of the levee system and water levels? Thanks.

When I saw NO Flood, I was praying the whole thing was a bad dream and that New Orleans was okay...

Best I know....

Water around the Superdome is 3 feet deep.

Water in parts of 9th Ward up to rooftops.

French Quarter is flooding...

2 levees have broken and a third is in trouble.
