Wow - they sent the recon far north on that pass - I guess they were sampling for Little Cayman and Cayman Brac?

They changed directions from one system to the distrabance that would become Rita in 2005. I think that is what they are doing. They know Dean is going through a EWRC...So they feel that he is not strengthing now. They may send another later.

I don't believe that is the reason they are heading back. Pojo said last night, they had "aircraft problems" which prevented the flight from leaving on time. So maybe they are more problems again.

Probably forgot to put the fuel cap back on. :)

Seriously though, I hope that plane is ok and the crew stays safe. Looks like they are heading back in now.

   I hope it was something minor and it probably was if not they would have landed in Jamica or Haiti, even though I don't know how are the runways after Dean.

It probably was a technical problem, do they have OnStar or AAA!!!

By the way, Dean is already almost at the same distance from St. Croix than from Bloxi, MS.

Hmmm St Croix...Biloxi is the summer...St Croix...Biloxi in the summer....

If Cayman comes thru as clean as it looks like it might they would be a good staging point...will be plenty of hotel space right now...

Any idea when the next mission or the continuation of this mission is? Is there a place to view updated plans for the day?

Does anyone know if the data from the buoys dropped yesterday is publicly available anywhere?

I believe they turned around becuase they want to have that plane for Invest 92L. Dean flights will be done from Biloxi. I believe that flight was supposed to fly into Dean and then on to Biloxi. Now that 92L is there, they have to stay to fly in tomorrow.
