Re: A personal question.
I am 58 and I have been tracking hurricanes since Carla in 1961. I was raised in Galveston and I live in Houston now so the interest is obvious. I believe this forum is great. We have come a long way from push pins in a map on the wall.

Anyway... I'm 49, and grew up in Waco. I first started tracking storms when I saw what Beulah did to Padre Island back in '67.

I am 57 The first TC I can remember was Cleo in 1964. Came right accross my parent's house in Ft. Lauderdale.
I started tracking tropical systems in 1966 when I did a science fair project on hurricanes. Won 2nd place by the way.

Re: A personal question.
I have been a weather nut since Ed Brandon (Channel 13 ABC) came and spoke to my class when I was in 5th grade in Pasadena ISD. It was 1976 and Anita affected the Hou/Gal area. I began tracking storms and have gone to see many tropical storms in Galveston over the years ( I reside in the Webster/Clear Lake area). I guess Iv'e been following Hurricanes for 32 years.

Im 16, and the first time I saw a tc (bertha 96-IR image on the news) I was 4 years old and was fascinated by its amazing swirling colors...however my interest fully developed at age 10 when hurricane lili threatened the TX/LA coast as a cat4 and and the first storm i fully tracked was hurricane claudette in 2003.
