I've noticed the DFW NWS's discussions being very well written lately(at least past few months), and offering more explanation. It appears they know amateurs read the discussions, so they "dumb it down" for us. There's a new name, Cavanaugh, that I've noticed is very good with the discussions. I keep meaning to send them an email on the informative discussions, and give specific credit to this person.

LCH as well as HGX had some good discussions this morning in the lastest AFD Updates. EC seemed to do a fairly good job with this feature as well.

That remnant swirl Low over Texas looks like it is moving back towards the Gulf.

It is slowly moving South while at the same time starting to wind down. Pressures have begun to rise at the center and the rainfall has been much more limited today. With its' current location I am curious as to why it isn't tapping into the GOM moisture more(of course I haven't bothered to look at the WV loop lately either and that may hold the answer).

Seems like it has spun itself into a weakened state, could be why there is not much action with it.

I don't think the pattern is strong enough to get it back over the Gulf. This thing looks like it would get going if it did though.
