NHC did seem to downplay the deaths as not a part of Stan in this report

Yes, although they did set the direct death toll at 80. (Pretty high for a Category 1).

Also noteworthy how Stan suddenly swung towards the Mexican coast unexpectedly.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Stan the first hurricane to landfall on that section of the Mexican coast since Janet in 1955?

Delta is now up - no upgrade to a hurricane like some thought.

Debby in 1988 also moved into the same region, and TS Larry in 2003 hit the same part of the Mexican Coast

They upgraded Delta's first peak intensity to 60KT. I just noticed that.

I'd rather surprised by the frequency of the reports now it's pretty good. I'd say the NHC has been doing an awesome job on that.

And while I can kind of see Zeta and Vince i'm surprised Emily and Rita of all reports are still left.

Hopefully we'll get one of the Big Three as I see it this week. And of course those being Emily, Rita and Vince.

I wouldn't expect that much from Vince, as it did not have a significant impact on land. It hit Spain as a depression, so it may only get a passing notion

I imagine it'll probably have a complex discussion of it's genesis and probably a significant note of the landfall as you have said.

Plus I would think wind speeds taken from Spain? I imagine that's something we definitely haven't down before.
