ships model has it at a depression right now and at a 100mph hurricane in 96 hours... I bet this will be a depression at the 11pm advisory

That's about as likely as Debby becoming a Category 5 in the next few days. In other words, highly unlikely.

Doubt it. There are no signs of a closed LLC yet!

Leave our Texas homeboy EWG alone ... so what if he's out at Home Depot right now getting plywood and a backup generator for Ernesto.

Why does Ernesto need plywood and a generator?

Folks, I remember in 1964 that Cleo was headed for Jamaica from the Lesser Antilles. However, it took a sudden and unexpected turn north right into Eastern Cuba and South Florida. It is much too early to predict where this system will eventually go.

That's very true Courier. Last season should have told us all that these storms have minds of their own. This invest is just that right now, an invest....until it's officially a storm, it will be very hard to predict where it will end up going. However, it is the nature of the board to start making predictions early

this is not 1964

we have reliable computer models now that can predict these things with reasonable accuracy

It looks like a big, old squashed ink blot...it's huge and spread out....do we have any idea where the, er, center would be? I know there's some debate out there on whether there's a LLC or not.

Charley was pulled northward by a historically strong August cold front that went all the way into the GOM. The situation is different this time, I think.
