The pressure argues for a hurricane, but either Recon is missing the winds or they haven't caught up yet.

If we use a blend from SFMR values and FL winds, we find that we have a 70 MPH tropical storm, ALMOST a hurricane. This will probably be reflected in the next advisory.

Although, one would argue it's already a hurricane based on the surface estimated winds...

Best part about Katrina is that we'll get real good surface obs once it makes landfall.

FLL and FXE should be right in the eye and eyewall.
