NHC just mentioned on their FB page that the report for Sandy has a release date of Feb. 11th give or take a couple of days.

I'd expect the rest of them between now and then in that case, with Chris and Lane the next ones I think. For Leslie, they may be waiting on certification of data from Environment Canada perhaps.

The Isaac TCR has to be the longest ever (78 pages), there is a TON of surface obs there.

Imagine how long Sandy would be since it had a very large impact throughout the east coast.

100+ pages perhaps? Depends on the number of surface obs received. It may be less though since hurricane-focused networks aren't as well established in the Northeast.

The KMZ files for Chris and Leslie have been finalized (in the GIS section):

Chris - peak intensity 75 kt, pressure 974mb (likely a ship report)

Leslie - peak intensity 70 kt, extratropical at Newfoundland landfall (which was well suspected)

I would expect both of them early next week.

Yep, interesting they just analyzed the 974mb pressure (operational was 987) and it was not from a surface observation (i.e. ship). I'd have made a case for a lower intensity given that it is unlikely the maximum winds were getting down on cooler waters though...

Also it started as a subtropical storm on June 18, which was not operationally identified.

Now, the wait for Sandy. How long until that one comes out? NHC said mid-February in a recent post.

All of the Tropical Cyclone Reports for the 2012 season have now been released - except for one. The report for Hurricane Sandy is nearly completed and is still on target for a release next Monday (February 11th).

This is what the NHC posted on their facebook feed, Yes, Hurricane Jed-it is the 11th February.

The National Hurricane Center Summary Table for 2012 now lists Sandy as a major hurricane.

It has been removed now. I saw it last night and it did say that Sandy was a cat 3.

From the Facebook page. Sandy's Post-Season report is now going to be released on Tuesday. As you can read, they have a sense of humor about it.

NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center

Our forecast that the Tropical Cyclone Report for Hurricane Sandy would be released on Monday will end up being a tad optimistic. The report is now scheduled for a Tuesday morning release. (Apparently, even after you put them there, one's ducks don't always *stay* in a row.) Tuesday for sure. Really.
