News stations..
I flipped between the stations this morning and while 2 of them are still on the "Cold front bandwagon".. 1 did appear to be more concerned about Isabel and her future path...
This storm has Florida written all over it..

statement from local met:
I still don't see any indication that the storm will make the Gulf. The fact remains that even if there was an approach into the extreme Eastern Gulf of Mexico, southwest winds in the upper levels would take it back northeast. This, of course, depends on the storm maintaining this course and the forecasted trof of low pressure from Canada being as strong as the guidance has been indicating.
The Carolinas to Maine seem to be the most vulnerable, still.
The storm will keep moving like this for several days. One thing that might save the East Coast, ironically, is the remnants of Henri off North Carolina. This 'weakness' in the ridge might force a more northerly movement. I doubt it will be around, though, to be that much of an influence in 4 days when the storm gets closer to the coast.
Time will tell.

well.......
The meterologist on WEAR3 here in Pensacola said that we need to keep watching it, even here in Pensacola, because noone has a good handle on what Isabel will do.
And that's a pretty rare statement for this guy, who usually will say "we're safe" any chance he can. This means he is definately not sure.

Local Hype Begins!!
Well here in WPB Fla, our local met is sticking with the NHC forecast. He says that because of Henri's remnants, Isabel will turn north.
BUT, the funny thing is, they advertised that starting tomorrow (Saturday), they are going to be giving TWICE hourly updates of Isabel!
Pretty funny huh?

I've known him since I was 12 years old).
Today, Glen burns makes a complete idiot of himself once again by saying that there is virtually no chance that florida or georgia will be effected by the hurricane and that "only" the outer banks of NC will be effected and then it moves out to sea. what a moron. i will tell you right now, i have lost ALL respect for this guy as this is just another example in a long line of complete and utterly stupid comments/forecasts from Burns over the last couple of years. he has really become an emperassment in my eyes and he now gets under my skin as much as liza mozer did at TWC so much so, i really cant watch him anymore without getting frustrated and annoyed by the idiocy coming out of his mouth almost everyday.

WPDE TV15 has now begun instructing viewers to get their preparations ready and instructed everyone on what to do to get ready. They even went over making sure your insurance was adequate to cover your losses and reminded people that once a watch was issued, policies were no longer written. Hurricane Isabel was the lead story for the first time this evening.

Hey lookout,
I think Glen may be losing it too! He really didn't seem that way a few years back. Not sure why the sudden change with his ridiculous comments? Anyway, it's safe to say that nobody (especially our local mets) have an idea where this will go. Like Perry said about Ken Cook, the uncertainty beyond 3-4 days makes this very dangerous!

"This one should miss us" NHC has done a good job of forecast tracks this year even though he's disagreed with them in the past. Thinks coastal hit would be no surprise, the Carolinas are very vulnerable and you don't want to be heading to Myrtle Beach next week.

Dennis phillips.."Sometimes tropical systems can get so big they create their own enviornment and bypass the other enviornment..Many things can and often do change...this forecast is a projection..Keep checking back" ... Then he said we may be looking at dry weather middle of next week depending on Isabels track. Please monitor the progress of Isabel" Watch and wait wait and see

Well here it is!! I am the first to report it. Tonight's news had a reporter standing in front of HOME DEPOT!! Followed by a snip from Palm Beach County Emergency of Operations guy saying: Take the weekend to get prepared.(the whole better to be safe than sorry bit)
Anyway, another met said NHC forecast track is good news, but certainly not written in stone.
Other snippets I heard:
-a little more encouraging
-monitor over weekend
-always a possibility
-keep an eye on
Finally, now a second news station has announced they will be giving 1/2 updates all weekend.
A little early for that don't cha think?
The hype train is a comin' folks

On my way home from work WDBO radio weather announced that Isabel was indeed a cat 5 and that they were expecting a turn to the North within the next few days. The scary part of what he said was was that it would be 300 miles due east of Cocoa Beach by Tuesday. If this storm doesn't turn, Central Fla is in deep doo doo!

Well, obviously I am not hearing half as much about Isabel, due to the fact that she will never reach my area!
But the local met does take a minute every forecast to talk about 'Impressive Isabel'. He hasn't said anything about where Isabel will go, but I bet he has his eye on it too, our weather is boring! Watch out everyone, stay safe!
