How about a forum where threads can only be generated by approved forecasters? Others would be allowed to post in those threads, but not originate new threads.

Like I said, not my idea, but when I read it, it sounded like a very good idea because so many people turn here when a storm potentially threatens them and, without knowing how much weight to give to the poster's analysis (which takes a good bit of time on this board to discern), "Joe Blow"'s opinion gets equal weight with, say, AFMet, WxMan57, MW, Ort, etc.

This idea is already up for consideration by the Admins. IMO, it is an excellent idea.

Hmmm. This poll has five more votes than Floydbuster's "Storm of the year (SO FAR)" poll.

Looks like we have 140 to 150 members interested in taking part. The most in any forum on the board.

I gave it a 10. No doubt about it, this is one of the best sites on the net. After admitting to being addicted to Storm 2K, how could I give it anything less? I've meet some of the greatest people here and have taken away a world of knowledge. In many respects this is my "family" and at times I spend more time here than with my actual family.

I do have one pet peeve but did not take it into consideration when casting my vote because, after all, it is an open forum. Also, I see it has been discussed and a remedy is being considered.

We have a Cat 4/5 , whatever bearing down on us (location doesn't matter) and I quickly log on to see the most up to the minute, professional opinions and find that anyone who can type, can post a "forecast". I would like to see a category or even a sticky for "amateur forecasts". I commend the amateurs for trying their hand at weather forecasting but there is a time and place for it.

Thanks for listening.
