Impossible to say for sure, but, it looks like the season is nearing an end - just too many areas of unfavorable winds (per the New Orleans NWSFO comment that the Gulf will be unfavorable for tropical cyclone formation for at least "the next 10 days" - which means until mid-October - which is usually near the end of the Gulf season, anyway)...
I'm never one to say when the season will be over (or if it is over), but, it seems to be a pretty sure thing at this point - even the newest tropical disturbance in the eastern Atlantic is already moving northwestward, per all of the others before it...
We here in Florida and on the Gulf Coast are greatful - the 2006 season was a well-needed (but unexpected) break...

I'll wait and see it - to believe it. Nothing in the Gulf the remainder of the season is my take. Actually no CONUS landfalling anything the remainder of the season.

As late as Oct 2, you could get 16-1 that Isaac was the last storm. I have made a few bucks already (trading in and out of Isaac, Joyce, and Kirk). I stand to make another $200 if there are no more named storms.
