Creepy dead still outside here. Crickets and frogs. Sort of like before Charley but much less hot and humid.

AFM says it will still be a TD...can't see them changing the path or intensity on this update either

LOL, same here - I was just refreshing the NHC site hoping it was up already. Interesting that they've moved the track a bit north, as there's more of the Keys in the cone of doom....will be an interesting couple days coming up, that's for sure. Hope the S2K servers are ready!

Yep, launches are awesome - went to the return to flight one last year and was 6 miles away, which is where we'll be this year too. Totally incredible!!!

Hey Sanibel. Do not forget the Iguanas. They are steadily eating the crickets and frogs. Soon they will take over your island . Run while you can !!

Last year DH went away (he never travels.) I sat through the tamer version of Katrina alone.

He's leaving again this weekend. And guess what is forming?

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Oil prices climbed toward $73 on Friday as another storm brewed in the Caribbean with the potential to reach the Gulf of Mexico next week, creating worries over U.S. production already trimmed by an outage in Alaska.

Already the jitters are at full force in Asia trading in the oil market there worried about the system, and the potential to be a problem for the oil production in the GOM next week.

To be expected. I'm remembering how we watched Ivan and Katrina move across the Caribbean and up into the Golf, landing darn close to where the NHC said they would. We knew a week ahead of time trouble was brewing.

While anything can happen, and Charley showed us that anything inside the cone is at risk, the NHC is good at their job and getting better. If they're putting a strong hurricane in the gulf next week, then the oil companies are going to pay attention.

Ah. It was already going to be tough to sleep tonight. Now, with these new [hopefully bogus] model runs, I just hope to get 4 hours. Hey, at least tomorrow is FRIDAY. Wait, TODAY is FRIDAY!

You know I was thinking about this last night ... assuming TD5 survives and eventually prospers (into a hurricane) ... what a lousy combination of:

Hurricane + Holiday weekend along Gulf Coast beaches = disaster
