If this measurement is correct, then the cyclone is much stronger that what BoM is saying it's.

Category 4 Severe Tropical Cyclone
Gusts between 225 and 279km/h equating to sustained winds between 160km/h (86kts) and 199km/h (107kts).
George is very close to becoming a Cat. 5. Right now he sits at the northern edge of Cat. 4, and as you can see, if 279 km/h (10-min gusts) is equal to 107 knots (1-min sustained winds), then 275 km/h should equal 105 knots, exactly what was measured Bedout Island.

Even Dvorak agrees the winds are in that vicinity.

That is an impressive mean wind speed measured there. Couldn't be much closer to a cat 5 really.

REMARKS:
George has shown some trochoidal motion as it approaches the coast. Observations at Bedout Island of mean 105 knots winds imply gusts to 150 knots, and intensity is adjusted upwards accordingly. Latest Dvorak analysis support this intensity, as a high end CI 6.0.
Steady weakening is forecast after landfall, though no strong shear is evident, and therefore category 3 impacts are possible at some inland centres. South to SSE motion is forecast over land, though erratic movement is anticipated during the crossing process.

Hundreds of people were being evacuated from low lying areas of the Pilbara on Thursday night as West Australian communities braced for the onslaught of powerful tropical cyclone George.
The category four tropical storm was approaching Port Hedland tonight as it neared the coast at 18km/h.
The weather bureau says if the erratic cyclone continues its current progress it will cross the coast near Port Hedland tonight - lashing the town of 15,000 people with destructive winds of up to 235km/h.
"Port Hedland is specifically under threat," the bureau said in a cyclone warning.
"Tides are likely to rise significantly above the normal high tide mark with very dangerous flooding and damaging waves."
It was still possible the cyclone could deviate and hit Pilbara coastal areas further west.
A cyclone warning is in effect for coastal areas from Onslow to Bidyadanga and extended inland as far as the mining hubs of Tom Price, Marble Bar and Nullagine.
Flights to the region have been cancelled and ports closed today as staff went home to bunker down.
The weather bureau says extensive flooding along the coast between Wallal and Dampier was expected tonight as well as widespread inundation across the Pilbara over the next two days.
Communities in coastal areas from Coral Bay to Onslow, as well as those in the southern Pilbara and northern Gascoyne were on cyclone watch.
George is the first cyclone of the WA season, which has an average of five cyclones between November and April.
A second cyclone, named Jacob, has been brewing in the Indian ocean near the Australian territory of Christmas Island.
The weather bureau has issued a cyclone warning to the island, saying the category two storm could produce gales with gusts of up to 90km/h.
Thunderstorms with heavy rain are likely tonight which may result in localised flooding.
