Admin needs to change the threat topic - the NHC does not refer to this as an area of disturbed weather - just a wave...

The weather is not sunny under the wave, it's rainy with some thunder. Therefore, technically, an area of disturbed weather is correct.

Frank, a tropical wave is an area of disturbed weather. I wrote the original thread title.

Both Trinidad ( TTPP) and Grenada (TGPY) have reported Southerly or South-westerly winds in the past few hours, suggesting perhaps some kind of surface circulation associated with this wave.

Caracas Venezuela ( SVMI) and Guiria Venezuela (SVGI) reported a North westerly or west north westerly wind in the past little while also.

All this is doing is paving the way for the next big storm by cleaning up the SAL.

Looks like Puerto Rico is going to get a solid soaking from this ...

I've been discounting this wave's chances at development, but if it keeps this level of convection going through tomorrow I may well change my mind.

Am I looking at this wrong? To my eyes it looks like it is trying to go WNW and not W. But I am blinded in one eye and can't see out of the other.

I will be gone the rest of the day. Have Doc Appt to see if I have cancer or not.
I look and see how things changed when I get back.

Without any defined surface circulation, it's awfully hard to judge this. I'd say we have a vigorous wave axis moving west with the convection becoming more pronounced at the northern end.

I will be reporting anything important that may occur here as this disturbed area associated with the strong wave moves thru.

At this point, I am going to wait before I write this system off as a sacrificial lamb for SAL.

Latest SAT pics are showing a huge blowup of convection now over the Leeward Islands. Could there be something forming? Looking at that sat pic all I have to say is how quickly things change in the tropics

Looks like there may be a broad area of low pressure forming between St Kitts, Antigua, and Barbuda islands (northern most leeward islands). I see some CC turning - could be a mid-level reflection though. Pressure has dropped 2 mbs in 24 hours at Antigua. Lowest pressure is in the northern leeward islands at 29.94 in (1014 mb).
