Looking better here too. Assuming the Cape Verde system becomes an Invest soon, this should become 97L in the near future.

out of curiosity where would this go? Through the
caribbean and then what...what will the synoptics
be like in 4-5 days?

From what I have seen the ridge should hold strong
for 7-8 days, well with the heat going well
north across the US for the next 7-8 days
according to TWC.

Don't chop my head off but this could go
west for a while...interpret that how you will

For what its worth this does have some decent convection with it however so did that invest a couple of weeks ago (just before Ingrid) but as it didn't have a LLC all its convection was blown to kingdom come. this one has got a fair chance of being 97L however I feel if it can develop some sort of circulation and I'd guess its heading into the Caribbean and anything in there needs watching, esp at this time of year.
