So I suppose this means we have no word on this system yet...

Interesting, but not surprising, I guess, 2005 had two twins storms. Gert & Franklin, and Alpha and Beta. The rest of Beta's report was already known, nothing new!

The tracks for all the 27 named systems are now posted at the first page and at this page. This means that they wont do any report of that unamed system.

I wouldn't be so sure they aren't going to do any report on the unnamed system...

If they were doing a report of an unnamed system, it would have been included in the track map, much like what happened in 1997 and 2000... unless you know something we dont'...

What information you have about that unnamed system that you can share with us and makes you believe they will make a report on it after the tracks for all the systems are out?

All I am at liberty to say is that track maps can be updated and I wouldn't say that the posting of the track map kills anything. Give it a week or so.

I sent an e-mail to Franklin and he said that it hasn't been discussed yet, and in the case the storm is added, the map will be updated.

Just remember what happened a few weeks ago with the Zeta report (inadvertent admission that a report was coming). i bet the delay is from Washington and not meteorological in nature. Just a hunch... and as far as I know what I heard about the possible system stands.

UPDATE on the map:

The track of the unnamed subtropical storm is now shown on the map. The report (if one is issued) has not yet been released.

INTERESTING TRACK! I DON'T KNOW HOW WE MISSED THIS STORM. ONE EXPLANATION IS THAT IT FORMED WHEN STAN AND TAMMY WERE CAUSING HAVOK, ESPECIALLY STAN, AND THAT COULD BE THE REASON WHY WE MISSED THIS STORM. WE WERE SO CONCENTRATED IN STAN AND TAMMY THAT THIS STORM JUST SLIPPED FROM OUR FINGERS. FORTUNATELY, IT DIDN'T SLIP THROUGH THE NHC'S FINGERS!!!

It's really interesting to note that, had this storm been named, Alpha would have been the strongest Atlantic hurricane on record.

Everyone was focused on Stan and Tammy, and on which of these two would develop first (TD 19 or the western Caribbean INVEST that became Stan). Remember? That is probably how we missed the unnamed system.

It also would have been the first Greek storm to make U.S. landfall. Imagine all that!

The report has not yet been released on the unamed system. But we will have it if not today by this week.
