just hold off until we get the vortex before you start saying that because the winds will be at 104knots in the the vortex and who knows what the pressure will have done!

965mb is traditionally considered the borderline between category 2 and category 3. That's not to say they'll bump the winds up to 100kt/115mph, but I wouldn't be surprised to see 95kt/110mph at 11pm.

The storm is trochoid wobbling through the Gulf Stream while dropping pressure. The upper outflow is perfect and vast all the way up to the upper Gulf without inhibition. It's obvious what it is about to do...
