The signal from the EPS can't be ignored. Way too early to talk about a East coast threat, but that also makes it too early to call this a fish.

Agreed. We know it will be well over a week before we have a good idea of where this thing might end up, and even then events can surprise us.

SSTA's are boiling in MDR right now and that is a big fuel for this wave down the road and with less sal around is even better enviroment.

Up 10% - 50%

As of 2:00 am EDT Mon Aug 28 2017 ...
A tropical wave located near the coast of western Africa is
producing a large area of showers and thunderstorms. Environmental
conditions are forecast to be conducive for gradual development of
this system while it moves westward at 15 to 20 mph over the
tropical Atlantic during the next several days.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.

Given the model history with the waves this year before exiting Africa, I would've personally kept the five day at 20% until it's been over water for about a day or so and see if the models continue to show development. Not saying we won't see development down the road but I have doubts about it forming east of about 55W.

@BenNollWeather
Looks to be the strongest tropical storm-hurricane MDR signal we've seen all season with the wave coming off of Africa now. Watch this one.
