My guess is that most of this moisture associated with comes into the mid and upper Texas coasts. I think the high off the coast of Florida and the upper low over SW TX will send it that way. That being said...I wouldn't be totally surprised to see some sort of weak surface low spin up with it since I think it will be over water for a while. Certainly nothing major. I think the chances of getting a TD out of it are about 30% since the gradient will be tight with the high to the east and the west GoM loves hybrid type development.

"BOC?"

Funny, I got ripped yesterday for even mentioning this on the 2nd page.

I see a little twist just to west of the 2 squalls 57 pointed out, mid level I think and I don't see anything at the surface yet.

You can see them "ramp up," a little at the end of this loop.

Sanibel also seeing hints of twist and formation bursting at BOC.

Previous overland intense tropical LOW of last week could be sign of hot spot for formation in w GOM.

There is something going on and it looks like there is another wave behind it on the Yucatan right now. We are getting to the time of year where it can't stay quiet.

Is there any reason why we have two threads for the same system?

If you look at the faint surface clouds striated through the Florida Straits and into the Gulf Of Mexico they bend downward towards the disturbance in the Bay Of Campeche. This is a hint of formation since the tropical flow usually bends northwards towards recurvature in this area.

I hope not another Frances. 70% of my subdivision in NW Houston was evacuated by air-boats, high profile trucks & our elementary school became the shelter. We were lucky at our home but knew so many that weren't, kids & I made sandwiches & took whatever food we had up to the school.

All I'm asking is a simple request for you to be considerate of other members on the board and put some thought into your posts & proofread before clicking "submit".

Considering the purpose of a post is for other people to read that shouldn't be a hardship....if you "honestly don[']t care" then why post in the first place?

Proof reading my own writing is tough for me, I know in my mind what I meant to write so looking over simple mistakes, a missing word, ect... is tough to catch, I still read what is in my mind not what I just wrote on the screen.

I do appreciate all the links to weather maps Aric posts on here.

No signs of development here. Maybe farther south.

My understanding of the NAM was that the wave that is currently in the Gulf of Mexico breaks off the northern piece of it heading towards the Texas coast on Thursday/Friday, but the southern part merges with the wave that just entered the Yucatan, and it is 'that' which develops into a low and then slowly tracks north as it develops into Texas Sunday/Monday. I would not discount the NAM so much. The SW Gulf looks pretty stormy right now, there is a large upper level high north of the Yucatan that is progged to move generally towards the Bay of Campeche in the next couple days so that it will be directly over any developing system, waters are warm and untouched by any previous storm--so conditions look very favorable in my humble opinion.
