What's up with Meteosat 9 (East Atlantic)

#1 Postby KBBOCA » Thu Jun 26, 2008 12:16 pm

Does anyone know what's up with Meteosat 9?
It hasn't updated since 18:00 UTC June 24th as best I can tell.

I've been using these links:
Visible: http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/eumet/eatl/vis-l.jpg
Infrared: http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/eumet/eatl/avn.jpg

Does anyone have any good alternate links for West Africa / the far eastern Atlantic?
I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

NOAA web site, I'd guess.

New EUMETSAT site:
http://www.eumetsat.int/Home/Main/Image ... x.htm?l=en

From the old site:
http://oiswww.eumetsat.org/SDDI/cgi/lis ... v=400,pp=0
http://oiswww.eumetsat.org/SDDI/cgi/lis ... v=400,pp=0
http://oiswww.eumetsat.org/SDDI/cgi/lis ... v=400,pp=0

The MPE imagery updates every 15 minutes, not like the 6 hours for NOAA. The bad thing is the latitude and longitude are not clearly shown. The cross hairs should have some numbers at the very least at the end of the image.

Thanks for the links Ed & Chris. I've bookmarked them and it's good to have them.

Just noticed the NOAA page for Meteosat9 is posting updated images again, so whatever the problem was, it's solved.

Storm2K continues to be the best. What a great place to get info. I so appreciate all the commenters here.
