3 Named Storms at Same Time in July?
Does anybody know the last time, if ever, that we had 3 named systems at the same time in the Atlantic in July? If Bertha can hold on, it's a possibility over the weekend.

I don't know, but if Bertha is declared ET in the next 24 hours, it won't happen. I don't see 94L being in a hurry to organize, unofficially, of course.

With time finally running out on Bertha, it all depends on how long it takes for 94L to get its act together. I think we'll still have Bertha and Cristobal in 24 hours, so if Dolly forms tomorrow there you go. On the other hand, 94L may not develop into a storm until Monday or even Tuesday, assuming it develops at all. Also, while fairly unlikely, it's not inconceivable that we could see three named systems simultaneously before the month is over, even with Bertha out of the picture.
Either way, an unusually active July. Hopefully things won't get too out of hand.
