Am I wrong?

#1 Postby drystorm56 » Sat Jul 19, 2008 5:14 pm

I was just watching our WRAL news in the Raleigh area and the tropical system is all the talk of the airwaves. Even the reporter in wrightsville beach was wearing awinter coat!! Yes one of those heavy weather jackets reporting from the 83 degree 77 dewpoint beach!!

This storm will remain offshore and cause nothing more than some gusty winds sloppy surf and then a hot monday here in central NC and down towards the beach.

No wonder we have people who get tired of the news channels and the constant hyping of the things that are well normal for summer in the atlantic basin.

Having a tropical storm form off of the coast of the South East United States isn't "normal" for the hurricane season. Most start out in the Caribbean or as the season wears on, off of the coast of Africa. The media is performing a public service by informing the public as to the latest information on this storm.

I am also moving this to the Talking Tropics forum since the topic is of a tropical storm.

dry storm i get your point, the thing is giving you average summer time conditons, a breeze and a shower, yet there is MORE POTENTIAL out there in the ocean (weak ts) , than in a average summer day so they have to report it, and i bet those reporters are saying the same thing
