Nice Looking Wave Developing Near Barbados
We've had a bit of rain and thunder from this so far. The latest satellite loops seem to show a bit of circulation wanting to develop. Then again it may just be my imagination.

Re: Nice Looking Wave Developing Near Barbados
Looks like the wave is interracting with an upper level trough, and the resulting SW shear is fanning the flames, creating a nice blowup of storms:

Sometimes shear, if it is not strong, and is short lived, can help get storms to develop by causing outflow aloft, which enhances convection at the surface, and lowers pressures. Overall, however, shear ususally ends up being a limiting factor. Indeed, something to watch today.

Abajan it looks like the second wave out by 45w will catch up to the wave just to your east. Take a look.

This looks like a southern extentsion of the wave that was with 97L.

AN ATLANTIC OCEAN TROPICAL WAVE IS ALONG 55W/56W SOUTH OF 21N
MOVING WEST 10 TO 15 KT. POSSIBLE SHOWERS ARE FROM 13N TO 21N
BETWEEN 50W AND THE WAVE. A SURFACE TROUGH CONTINUES FROM
22N55W TO 27N52W TO 31N46W. ISOLATED MODERATE SHOWERS ARE
WITHIN 120 NM ON EITHER SIDE OF 23N56W 28N49W BEYOND 31N43W
