Some friends of mine were complaining about the 5 day cones that showed Ike striking Florida. They went into full panic mode for a day. They are well prepared and all stocked up, so, for them it was an emotional event. I tried to explain that the 5 day cone is "prone to error." I also tried to show a picture of the three day cone, and another picture of the location of the storm 3 days later. And point out that Ike was withing the cone!!!!
That explanation didn't work. They were still complaining about the 5 day cone. I changed the subject after that. It just wasn't worth it.

I'd just be greatful that it didn't come, but, that's me - people seem to believe anything in the movies, but, when it comes to reality, they always complain that it doesn't make sense...
Now that doesn't make sense...

Bingo!
I won't complain about "crying wolf" or "evacuating for nothing" - any of that hoohah. Back in '98 (?) we left, days later (and a bit poorer) we came back. House still standing. Community fine. Still had life, home, job. All I could think was Thank God!
